Tai-tai was able to secure a ticket and head out to be with her friend in Singapore. Keep everyone in your prayers that modern medicine will work its miracles once again...
It's getting to be bedtime and now I know what tai-tai feels like each night when I am out on a business trip. First thing I hear from expat-son after dinner...'can I sleep in your bed tonight, Daddy?' Oh boy...just don't KICK me!!
Work was again looking after visitors and traveling from one location to another all day. I blew off the dinner I had arranged last week, since I had no tai-tai to keep the children from eating each other!! Yes, even though there are several years separating them, they still fight and bicker as though they were 1 year apart. Crazy.
I get a phone call shortly after the kids get home from school. It's expat-daughter, yelling into the phone. WHAT?? She wasn't yelling at anyone...just yelling and not paying attention to the fact that she had just called someone. So...why did she call?? Expat son lost a tooth. 'Was it a tooth he was supposed to lose?" I said, referring the the mouthful of baby teeth that are slowly falling out of his mouth. 'Yes.' Whew...that's a relief. So...we await the tooth fairy this evening...
I would like to leave you with a series of posts from Roger Simon. These are his investigation into the investigation...Oil for Food. He's got some interesting insight into some of the dealings that the report didn't really go deep enough into.
Part 1; Part 2; Part 3; Part 4; plus a bonus article!
Oh hell, just read the whole blog. There is tons of information about the whole sordid tale.
