Don't get me going on dress codes!

All of those that know me know that I put up with an awful lot in life...but, one thing that I cannot put up with are dress-codes.  Particularly dress codes that insult the intelligence of those in the school or work environment.

This week, I received an email from my boss 'clarifying' the dress code for work.  Despite the fact that I work for a company that is casual, athletic and the product I work on is fashion oriented...apparently I am supposed to dress like a golfer everyday.

I recently saw a spot on CBS News about people wearing flip-flops and how some were appalled at the fact that the Northwestern University womens lacrosse team visited the White House and some of the ladies wore flip flops.  Uhhh...guess what...they are in style!

"They're great for the beach," she says. "They're great for hanging out with your friends. But they're clearly unprofessional. And if you're going to the White House, cover up your toes."

So...do you think the president would throw out whoever wasn't wearing the proper footwear??  Lighten up, people!

Even though these things bother me, my life isn't on the line.  Michelle Malkin has the piece about air marshalls and the dress code that they have when doing their job.  They may as well just put a big sign around their neck that announces who they are!

"This new adaptation to our present policy just fine-tunes it a little more on what clothing air marshals can wear to blend in," Brian Doyle , a spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security, said yesterday.

Wonder if air marshalls can wear flip-flops?

So was the "clarification" just for you or had all the office been going around in banana slings?

I thought mine looked pretty good, too.
