Blog for Relief Day; Sept 1

Inspired by Hugh Hewitt, bloggers are targeting Spetember 1 as a day to post and request relief.  Well, I'm a little early, since it is already Sept 1 here!

My chosen charity is Lutheran World Relief.   Actually, they don't do domestic stuff...but their website has links to both ELCA and LCMS.  As I mentioned before, you make the call.  Right now, due to ELCA's stance on Israel...I lean to LCMS (and popped for $100 today).

As a back-up...go with Catholic Charities.

Please be sure to check out Glenn Reynold's list of charities on Instapundit.

The Truth Laid Bear also has a comprehensive lit of blogs (including yours truly) and which charities they are supporting.  Add your blog!

Technorati key words...Flood Aid; Hurricane Katrina

UPDATE:  Welcome Instapundit & Truth Laid Bear readers...

UPDATE II:  Workmate here in Chiner is originally from Louisiana.  Initially, when the storm hit, he was a bit...'Ahhh...this happens all the time.'  Yesterday was a little different as word of the levee breaks started hitting.  He just heard back from family last night...everyone is well, but there is some serious property damage.

1/2 a world away...and we are still touched by what has happened.
