I have tried to update this entry 3 times...but my system has crashed each time I have completed it. Arrghhghg... So, this is the third time I have typed this entry...and it changes each time.
In all of this, we have sort of lost sight on the fact that there are TWO cancer patients in Singapore. Stevo's wife underwent cancer treatment last year and had her check up:
I had a bone scan, ultra sound, mammogram and blood tests etc as my routine follow up. Everything was fine.
Whew...what a relief. Our other cancer patient had a pretty good week and weekend...
She finished her second round of chemo and was discharged from the hospital on Friday...we've been spending some good time around the pool.
She had a friend from Hong Kong come over to see her this week so she has been quite excited about that, the two of them and another girl who now lives here in Singapore were together at school in HCMC. It was good that the 3 got to play together.
Right now, they await for the blood cell count to rise to a respectable level and they will do an MRI to see the progress of the tumor vs the chemo they just gave her. This is a critical test...and we're praying that the results are positive. After that, its on to NYC for the continuation of treatment.
Doctors in NYC have said that is encouraging to see how her body has reacted to the chemo so far. She hasn't had a serious rejection of it. Rather, the biggest issue she had was eating during her first bout with the disease. She is not having that problem this time around, as Stevo said she is even getting some pudgy cheeks on her!
Keep praying...keep hoping. Positive signs so far...lets hope that trend continues...
