Expat Daughter rants about Spring Break...and the fact that she is stuck in her dorm for the week (sorry dear...just no extra $$$ for the plane tickets).
So, she has gone out and bought some movies and music to keep her occupied for the time she will be on her own. But, not without some criticism of the deep blue dark side of retail...
I hate Wal-Mart. With a passion. Every time I walk in that store I want to stab someone in the eye with a tube of Pringels that are on sale all the time at the front of the store. ALL THE TIME! I hate the music selection because EVERYTHING is censored...which is just stupid. Not to mention the fact that ALL the music is Country and Hip Hop. The only rock they really have is Led Zeppelin and Foreigner.
That pretty much says it all of Wal-Mart and the consumer. Censored music and Led Zeppelin. Did anyone tell them what happens when you play Stairway to Heaven backwards?? They may need to just take it all off the shelf and go with a strict selection of Debbie Gibson and Burl Ives.
When you go through her list of movies and music...well, it makes a dad proud. I've taught her well. She bought John Wayne, Rodney Dangerfield and Wayne's World in the same trip. And...one of her favorite movies is Slap Shot.
(tear rolling down cheek)
God bless my little girl.
